Emily Zeek is a transmedia artist working across the mediums of sculpture, photography, performance and writing. Her work can be seen at the Children's Museum of Denver, in the Santa Fe Arts District and as part of the 5280 Trail Project on the Auraria Campus. Her work has also been shown at Emmanuel Gallery, Edge Gallery, Colorado Gallery for the Arts, Pirate Contemporary Art, and most recently at Union Hall Denver for the Rough Gems show "Sacrum."
As an Exhibit Designer at the Children's Museum of Denver Emily utilizes art and design to bring joy and wonder to children and their families. A recent graduate of University of Colorado, Denver, in Transmedia Sculpture, she also has a BS in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines.
Sculpturally, Emily's processes include oxyacetylene bending and welding steel metal rods into a variety of configurations that fit a conceptual narrative around diversity, feminism and existentialism. A winner of the Chalk Art Photography Contest, she has performed at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and independent venues around Denver. Emily is also a regular contributor to Daria Magazine.
